Safer Internet Day

On Tuesday 6th February, we observed Safer Internet day across the school with various workshops and projects.

LIII have been considering the benefits of technology, including making posters illustrating the possible benefits for the elderly, and discussing how they can develop their own sensible use of the internet and who to turn to if they feel something isn’t right.

Meanwhile, our UIII have been using their design and Microsoft Word skills to make young people aware of the amount of time they spend online and what they can do to ensure they do not overdo it.  According to Ofcom’s annual Media Use and Attitudes Report, in 2017 young people between the ages of 11-15 spent on average 20 hours and 48 minutes online each week!

LIV have been making stop-go animations to raise awareness of the need to stay safe online and our UIV have been evaluating websites to decide what makes a reliable online source as well as producing some very smart acrostics!

Parents and those looking for more information on Safer Internet use can find them here.
